Morphine and Opium

Morphine and Opium come in pill, liquid or powder form. They can be ingested, injected or even smoked, depending on the delivery method. Morphine is usually white, while opium is a darker brown color. You may find power rolled in aluminum foil, or in packets. Pills may also be found in similar containers, or loose.

Clinical Symptoms are respiratory distress or depression is a very common side effect of morphine. Acute pancreatitis may ensue if the drug is continued over a long period of time. Renal failure is also quite common. Opium's symptoms may include a dilation of blood vessels to the face, causing a flushed appearance and respiratory depression is also quite common. Other effects include nausea and constriction of the pupils.
